School Collaboration Project

Partnering with schools to support early identification and assessment of ADHD.

ADHDX believes early identification and management of ADHD are essential for long-term success and for reducing potential long-term consequences of the condition.

ADHDX is committed to developing a primary school model that enables teachers or SENDCO to refer children with behavioural concerns directly to ADHD services, ensuring timely assessments without unnecessary delays.

Our Pilot Project

As part of this project, we partnered with Robert Southwell Catholic Primary School in Brent to offer complimentary comprehensive assessments to pupils on ADHD assessment waiting lists. This initiative aimed to strengthen collaboration between health and educational organisations, improve access to care and explore how earlier assessment within the school setting may support students and families.

Project Aims

  • Explore direct collaboration with schools.

  • Assess the benefits of early diagnosis and timely treatment.

  • Explore the value of a comprehensive care model that considers the broader neurodiversity spectrum.

  • Assess the feasibility of a school-first coordinated pathway.

Outcomes

The collaboration provided valuable insights and was positively received by families and school partners, strengthening our commitment to further develop a school-first model.

We plan to expand our work with additional schools, offering complimentary comprehensive assessments and continuing to evaluate the model's potential and challenges.

All assessments were conducted in line with recognised diagnostic frameworks and clinical governance standards.
