Governance at ADHDX
Terms & Conditions
The terms on which ADHDX provides this website, your ADHDX account and our private assessment service.
Last updated 11 October 2026
These terms are a contract between you and ADHDX Ltd, which trades as ADHDX. They cover your use of this website, including the symptom checker, your ADHDX account, and any private assessment you book with us. Please read them together with our privacy policy, which explains how we look after personal information about you and your child. By using the website or booking with us you agree to these terms. When you book an assessment we ask you to confirm that you have read them, and we keep a record of when you did.
They apply to:
- Visitors to this website
- Parents and carers who use the symptom checker or hold an ADHDX account
- Parents and carers who book and pay for a private assessment
Assessments delivered through our School Collaboration Project are arranged with the school and run under the project’s information sheet and consent form, so the booking, fee and cancellation terms below do not apply to them. Services we provide to schools, NHS organisations and other bodies are covered by separate written agreements, which take precedence for those services.

The website
Information, not advice
The information on this website, including our Resources articles, is general information about ADHD, autism and related conditions. It is not medical advice about your child and does not create a relationship between your child and one of our doctors. Decisions about your child’s health should be made with a clinician who knows them. We take care to keep the content accurate and current, but we do not promise that it is complete or free of errors.
ADHDX is not an emergency service.
If you have urgent concerns about your child’s safety, call 999 or NHS 111.
Using the website
- Use the website only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not interfere with it or with other users
- Do not try to gain access to accounts, child codes, questionnaires or records that are not yours
- Do not copy, scrape or reuse the content or the symptom checker other than for your own personal, non-commercial use
- Links to other websites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices
We may suspend or withdraw the website, or any part of it, for maintenance or for other reasons, and we do not promise that it will always be available or free of faults.
Intellectual property
The website, the symptom checker, our questionnaires, our reports and everything else we publish belong to ADHDX Ltd or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other rights. You may read, download and print pages for your own personal use. The report we write about your child is yours to use for your child’s care; the templates, scoring and wording behind it remain ours.
The symptom checker
The symptom checker is a screening tool based on a recognised parent-rated questionnaire. It is designed to be completed by a parent or guardian about a child aged 3 to 17. Its result is a screening outcome, not a diagnosis: a positive result does not mean your child has ADHD, and a negative result does not mean they do not. Only a clinical assessment can decide that.
- Your answers are scored in your browser; nothing is sent to us unless you choose to save the report to your ADHDX account
- Saving the report requires you to confirm that you are the child’s parent or legal guardian
- The report is generated automatically and is not reviewed by a clinician before it is sent to you
- We do not send the report to your GP; it is yours to share as you see fit
Please do not use the checker in place of seeking help. If you are worried about your child, speak to your GP or book a free call with one of our doctors.
Your ADHDX account
You need an account to save a checker report and to book an assessment. To open one you must be at least 18 and, for anything concerning a child, a parent or guardian with parental responsibility for that child. You agree to:
- Give us accurate information about yourself and your child, and keep it up to date
- Keep your password and sign-in details private, and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account
- Use the account only for your own family; everything done through your account is treated as done by you
- Keep your child’s code and your questionnaire link private: anyone who has them can complete a questionnaire about your child. The teacher’s link is personal to them, so invite only the teacher (or the school’s SENDCO) you want to hear from
You can sign in with an email address and password or with a Google account; Google’s own terms apply to that sign-in. We may suspend or close an account that is used in breach of these terms, or where we need to protect a child or our service. You can ask us to delete your account at any time; your child’s clinical record is kept as described in the privacy policy.
The free call
You can book a free 15-minute call with one of our doctors to talk through your concerns and whether an assessment is right for your child. The call is advice only: it is not an assessment, it does not lead to a diagnosis or a prescription, and it places you under no obligation. You book it from your ADHDX account, choosing a time and giving us the number to call, and these terms apply to it. If you need to change the time, please call us; if we have to move or cancel the call, we will email you. There is no charge either way.
Booking a private assessment
What we provide
Our private assessment is a doctor-led assessment for children aged 6 to 12 that considers ADHD, autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions together. The fee of £950 covers the parent and teacher questionnaires, the doctor’s review of everything you share, the assessment appointment with your child, a discussion of your child’s Strengths and Needs plan at the same appointment, a written report and action plan reviewed and signed by two doctors, and a 12-month personalised management plan. Clinician review appointments are charged separately. In short, it includes:
- Comprehensive diagnostic interview
- Structured evaluation
- Formal written report
- Personalised management plan
If your child is younger than 6 or older than 12, please book a free call first so we can advise whether an assessment with us is suitable.
Paying and forming the contract
- The full fee is taken when you book, on Stripe’s secure payment page. Card details never reach ADHDX
- Your booking is confirmed, and the contract between us is made, when we receive confirmation of your payment. We then email you, and your account shows your child’s code and the next steps
- If payment is not completed, nothing is charged and no booking is made. An unpaid booking is removed after seven days
- Promotional codes we issue can be entered on the payment page; they cannot be exchanged for cash
- The fee shown when you book is the full price of the assessment; there are no further charges for it
The fee does not depend on the outcome
The fee pays for the doctors’ time, the assessment and the written report. An assessment may conclude that your child does not have ADHD, has a different condition, or needs further assessment elsewhere. The fee is the same whatever the outcome, and it is not refundable because the conclusion is not the one you expected.
Getting ready for the assessment
After you have paid, three things need to happen before you can choose an appointment time:
- You complete the parent questionnaire online, at your own pace
- You invite your child’s teacher from your account, and the teacher completes the teacher questionnaire. School reports or GP records help too, but are not essential
- Once both questionnaires are in, you choose an appointment from the times shown in your account
Please answer the questionnaires honestly and as fully as you can; the doctor relies on them. By inviting a teacher you confirm that you are entitled to give us their work email address and that you are happy for the school to know an assessment is under way. The teacher questionnaire is important evidence of how your child manages away from home. If the school cannot complete it, call us and we will discuss the options with you.
The assessment appointment
Private assessments take place by secure video call. The video-call link is in your account from the moment you book, and we email it again the day before. Please make sure that:
- Your child attends, and a parent or guardian is with them throughout
- You are in a quiet, private space with a device that has a camera and microphone, and a reliable internet connection
- You join on time; the appointment cannot be extended if it starts late
Recording
Assessment appointments are recorded and transcribed. The recording supports the doctor in writing an accurate report and forms part of your child’s clinical record; it is stored, protected and deleted as described in our privacy policy. If you would like to make your own recording, please tell the doctor at the start of the appointment.
Changing or cancelling your appointment
We know that plans change, especially with children. These are the rules we apply; please call us as early as you can if you need to change anything.
Cooling-off period
Because you book online, you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of paying, for any reason, and receive a full refund, as long as the assessment appointment has not yet taken place. By booking you ask us to start work straight away: we issue your child’s code, open the questionnaires and prepare for the appointment. If the appointment takes place within those 14 days, the service has been provided in full and the right to cancel ends with it. Once the cooling-off period has ended, the rules below apply.
Moving or cancelling
The same notice applies whether you want to move your appointment or cancel it: please call us at least 48 hours before it starts.
- With at least 48 hours’ notice you can move the appointment free of charge, or cancel it and we refund the fee in full
- With less than 48 hours’ notice, or if you miss the appointment, a late-cancellation charge of £150 applies. If you cancel, we refund the fee less the charge; if you would like a new appointment, the charge is payable before we book it
- If you join more than 15 minutes after the start time, the doctor may not be able to complete the assessment, and we treat it as a missed appointment
Refunds go back to the payment method you used, within 14 days of our confirming the cancellation. Please cancel by phone or email so that we can record it; the date we receive your message is the date that counts.
If we have to cancel
Occasionally we have to move or cancel an appointment, for example because the doctor is unwell. If that happens we will offer you a new time as soon as we can. If we cannot offer a time you can make within a reasonable period, or you would prefer not to rebook, we refund the fee in full. We may also decline or end an assessment where it is not clinically appropriate to continue, for example where your child needs urgent or more specialist care; in that case we refund the fee for any part of the service we have not provided.
Your report
After the appointment the doctor writes a detailed report and action plan, which is reviewed and signed by two doctors before it is sent to you. We will tell you at the appointment when to expect it.
- The report reflects the doctors’ professional opinion, based on the information available at the time of the assessment
- With your permission we share the report with your child’s GP to support NHS care, and we recommend that you share it with the school
- Whether a GP practice, the NHS, a school or a local authority acts on the report is their decision. We cannot guarantee NHS prescribing, a shared care agreement, an education, health and care plan or any particular support at school
- If you think the report contains a factual error, tell us and we will review it and correct anything we got wrong
Medication and ongoing care
Medication is discussed only where the doctor considers it appropriate, and the decision to prescribe is always the doctor’s. Ongoing care includes personalised management plan reviews and, where appropriate, medication appointments. These are charged separately per appointment:
- Medication Titration Appointments: £245 per appointment
- Stable & Optimised Repeat Prescription: £95 per appointment
- Personalised management plan review: £195 per appointment. At 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months and 12 months
Parents and teachers provide progress feedback every two weeks to help adapt the plan. This is separate from paid clinician reviews at 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months and 12 months.
We will explain what each stage includes, how prescriptions are supplied and how to end the arrangement before you commit to it. Following diagnosis and stabilisation your GP may agree to take over prescribing under a shared care agreement. That is at the practice’s discretion and is not guaranteed, and your child’s medication stays under our care until NHS arrangements are in place.
Safeguarding and clinical standards
Our doctors follow the General Medical Council’s standards and our own clinical governance framework. Everyone at ADHDX has a duty to keep children safe. Where we believe a child is at risk we may share information with the appropriate services without consent, as the law allows and requires; our safeguarding page explains how.
ADHDXAI, our internal clinician support tool, is an MHRA Class I certified medical device. It does not make clinical judgements or diagnoses; every report is written and approved by a doctor.
If something goes wrong
If you are unhappy with any part of our service, please tell us. Our complaints page explains how to raise a concern, how we investigate it and how to take a complaint further, including to the CQC.
Our responsibility to you
We provide our services with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer, or our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to exclude. We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking this contract or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, for business losses, or for problems caused by services outside our control, such as your internet connection or device, or the payment and sign-in services provided by Stripe and Google.
Changes to these terms
The terms in force when you book apply to that booking, and we keep a record of the date you accepted them. We may update these terms to reflect changes in the law, in regulation or in how our service works, and the date at the top of this page changes when we do. If a change affects a booking you have already made, we will tell you.
General
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes can be brought in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts
- If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply
- The contract is between you and ADHDX Ltd. You cannot transfer it to anyone else, and no one else has rights under it
- If we do not insist on a right straight away, we can still insist on it later
Questions about these terms can be sent to admin@adhdx.co.uk, or put to us by phone on 020 3984 9679.
